and the life-long enjoyment of music.

Group Lessons

  • Four students per class
  • Groups (students grouped by ability level and age
    • Age 7 – 10
    • Middle School – High School
    • Adult Recreational Piano (various skill levels from beginner to “I haven’t played in years.”)
  • Weekly 45-minute lesson

Private Lessons

  • Supplemental lessons in addition to group
  • Advanced students
  • 5 or 6 year old – 20-minute lesson
  • $20 per lesson

Studio Semester and Number of Lessons

  • Fall/Spring Semesters are based on a 9-month calendar. Fall Semester has 13 lessons from September 14 – December 18 and the Spring Semester has 15 lessons beginning January 13 – May 7. Most studio breaks coincide with the USD #489 calendar with the following exceptions:
    • October 12 (scheduled lesson)
    • Martin Luther King Day, January 18 (scheduled lesson)
    • President’s Day February 15 (scheduled lesson)
    • Snow Days (no lesson – will be rescheduled)
  • Saturday workshops and camps may be offered covering a variety of areas – Introduction to the Blues; Chords and Chord Charts; Introduction to Jazz and Improvisation; Piano Skill Builder.
  • The Summer Semester features a variety of workshops and camps, and lessons are offered in flexible packages to allow for vacations and time off. Summer Schedule is announced mid-spring. (private lessons – a winning combination with the group lessons)

Missed Lessons

  • If a student will be missing their lesson for any reason, they need to inform me before the lesson by text or email.
  • There are no reimbursements for missed lessons and tuition will not be adjusted unless the teacher cannot provide the promised number of lessons.
  • Options for lesson make-up
    • Student may attend another like age Group Lesson.
    • If given enough notice, lesson will be videotaped and made available to the student.

Semester Tuition and Fees

  • $17 per 45-minute lesson
  • Fall Semester — $221 plus studio fee and books
  • Spring Semester — $255 plus studio fee and books
  • A $20 studio fee per semester (recital, incentives, etc.)
  • Lesson Book – about $30
  • Payment Options
    • Monthly: Invoice sent one week prior to the first of the month. Payment due at first lesson of each month.
    • Semester: Invoice sent one week prior to the first lesson of the semester. Payment due at the first lesson.
    • May be made in cash, check, bank transfer, or credit card (processing fee applies)

Recitals & Performance Opportunities

  • To be Announced — Virtual or Assigned times in order  to social distance. 

Media Release

            Photos of students and video and audio recordings of student projects and performances may be posted online and used by the instructor for promotional and workshop materials.  Identifying information will be excluded or limited to first names only.  Parents wishing to exempt their students from any published media may do so by providing a written exclusion request.
