Full Chord Press Performs Kansas City Kitty

Boys singing…there is something about that sound.

Full Chord Press was his vision for the development of young male voices in 2009. Full Chord Press, a 6 – 12 grade boys choir,  began that year with six charter members, a box of donuts, one piece of music, and the dedication of all who were involved.

Year seven was eventful as we graduated the last of the founding members.  We are thankful for the support of the local Barbershop chapter. These men, members of the High Plains Barbershop Chorus, (HPBC) have graciously gave of their time and money to grow this program.  This year, Max Befort a founding member a  freshman music education major at Fort Hays University, was given a scholarship from HPBC to be the assistant director of Full Chord Press. We are seeing the fruit of Full Chord Press.

Each year we sing on the annual barbershop show in April at the FHSU Beach-Schmidt Performing Art Center. Below is one of the songs.  Enjoy!

Excellent work! I’m not surprised at Johnny Matlock. I’ve known Johnny of the past 36 years. We were members of the Harding University A Cappella Chorus together under the direction of Dr. Kenneth “Uncle Bud” Davis Jr. Johnny has been a great musician and a wonderful Christian man. Keep up the great work, my friend.
