It’s Summer At 809 Studio

Summer music fun at 809!!!

Seven students enrolled in a Piano Sight Reading Camp which finished up on July 21! Below is a “piano band” piece we put together on the last day of the five day camp. Students spent time each day sight reading short pieces, drilled note naming, practiced counting rhythm, note and interval recognition, and practiced a “piano-less prep” exercise to create greater success on their first attempt.

809 piano students have  discovered a “winning” combination:  group lessons throughout the year combined with summer private lessons. Wow!! These students are taking off. Voice students have been focused on technique this summer…looking forward to the fall when we start new literature!!!

Jessica Feyerherm works on breath and open space.

Nathan Leiker works on a relaxed body alignment.
