UKULELE LEVEL 1 — BEGINS JUNE 1 –ENROLL NOW

Let me tell you a bit about the class… and why this is so beneficial and fun!!!!

I am committed to developing in studio students skills that lead to “life-long” music learning and music enjoyment. I believe that music is for everyone and that our lives are enhanced with music and music making in it.

I am excited to expand Studio 809 by offering Ukulele Classes. The more I learn about this instrument…the more I think “where has the Ukulele been all my life.”  This instrument is versatile, portable, and affordable…

Seriously, as a music educator, I realize now how this instrument could have played an important role in my teaching at all levels. Seriously, the simplicity of this instrument, offers the young and adult musician an opportunity to “put it all together” possessing a better understanding of how music works – this will influence your singing, piano, well, really, every aspect of your music involved lives.

In Uke Level 1 (there are three levels):

  • 25 Lessons, 5 Units
  • 16 Songs from Canada, USA, Nigeria, England, Germany, France, Hawaii, and China
  • Chords: Am, C, D, F, G, G7
  • Learn the fundamentals in a performance-based method:  tuning your instrument, singing, picking, strumming, ear training, reading music notation, tabs, music theory – the Ukulele is an ideal vehicle for music literacy – plus it is so much fun.

My vision for Studio 809 Uke:

  • Groups of students learning and enjoying music-making progressing from Level 1 through Level 3. The student will learn some 50 plus songs from around the world in all different styles.
  • Studio 809 Jam Nights (not only playing our Uke but singing along)– Frequent planned Jam’s centered around different themes such as, seasonal (like Christmas, Irish, Valentines, etc), Beatles Mania, Woman Power, John Denver…
  • Building Community – the Uke is a social instrument. It is so easy and enjoyable with this instrument to make music with others.
  • Sharing our music with others…area nursing homes etc.
